ACS Memorial Scholarship

Where it began

Our Organization

The Albert C. Memorial Scholarship Foundation is a registered U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 2018 in honor of the late-great Albert C. Steele to support middle and high school students with passion for sports, education, and overcoming challenges.

Since our founding, we have hosted public golf outings and tennis “tournaments.” All donations generated from these events go directly to fund scholarships for middle school and high school athletes and scholars. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have awarded over $50,000 in scholarships—and we’re committed to continuing this impactful work.

In Loving Memory

Albert Charles Steele

"Big Al"

Albert C. Steele

Albert Charles Steele, fondly known as “Big Al,” passed away on June 27, 2018, at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with cancer. Al had a lifelong passion for sports, fitness, and personal training, dedicating much of his life to working with Olympic athletes and close friends. A talented golfer, Al achieved the remarkable feat of seven holes-in-one during his lifetime.

Al’s positivity was truly infectious. He was known for his radiant smile, hearty laugh, and uplifting outlook on life, inspiring everyone around him. His legacy of optimism and perseverance continues to shine through the Albert C. Steele Memorial Scholarship, which supports students in Martin, Cuyahoga, and San Luis Obispo Counties in California.

A Message from Our Family

“The Albert C. Steele Memorial Scholarship started in 2018 in memory of Albert C. Steele. Albert was a fighter, a person who overcame obstacles, an athlete, and just a great human being. Those are the qualities we look for when we reward students. So far, the scholarship has raised almost $36,000 and awarded scholarships to 17 students. We want to keep giving. All funds generated from our events will be used to support middle school and high school athletes.”

Sincerely,

the Blaney and Steele Family
